As a testament to the longevity and success of her career, Jane Hence is credited with more than 55 building designs, renovations and additions in the New England area. In tandem, she is the co-designer of more than 40 buildings in Rhode Island and Connecticut. Ms. Hence opened up her private architectural design firm, JKH Design, in 1989. Prior to opening the firm, she owned and operated a bed and breakfast and was a consulting associate and designer for Michael McKinley & Associates. In 2017, Ms. Hence joined the Alternate Newport Historic District Commission. At JKH Design, Ms. Hence and her staff strive to fulfill client’s dreams for their spaces. Using her background in art and naturally creative skills, she brings visions to life. She has been involved with a number of organizations that have allowed her to remain connected with her industry. Some of these organizations include; the Westerly School Facilities Committee, Westerly School Building Committee and the Southeast Museum. She served as the first vice president of the Point Association and as a director for the Nina Lynette Home. From 2011 to 2013, Ms. Hence contributed to the Point Association as the First Vice President.
Ms. Hence has recently been named as an alternate of the The Historic District Commission of Newport.
